Through the Lens of Bruce Davidson

On a recent trip to the Tate Modern in London I came across the Subway series by American photgrapher Bruce Davidson. To say I was astounded is an understatement. This collection of work documents the daily life of the New York subway and captures an unique cross-section of New York society, from unassuming commuters to gang members with guns.

Further fervent delving into the work of Davidson I found that in 1967 he travelled to Ireland documenting James Duffy and Sons Circus with great heart and intrigue. Here's one of my favourite pictures from the series of 13 images:

I urge everyone to check out Davidson's body of work. Hopefully you will be in awe of his talent as much I am! Here's an interesting interview with the man himself http://lens.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/06/28/showcase-177/
